Parker meets the creators of South Park

Parker with the creators of South Park

“ At the end of the day it was hard to leave. I really felt like I made new friends. ”

- Parker

Like many teenage boys, Parker has his favorite television show. For him, it’s South Park. When given the opportunity for a Make-A-Wish® experience, he knew exactly what he wanted: to meet Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of the popular Comedy Central sitcom.

His wish experience far exceeded his expectations and he describes it as “the most amazing experience of my life!”  Parker and his parents spent the entire afternoon with Trey and Matt, who showed them step-by-step details about how the show comes to life. Parker was even able to be in the sound room with the creators while they recorded a new show. Much to Parker’s surprise, Trey and Matt had something special planned. Parker was given a speaking part in the episode! When Parker left the studio, the surprises were far from over.

Back at the hotel, Parker found out that Trey had arranged dinner plans for the family at his favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. This was special to Parker because he and Trey had talked about his dreams to attend culinary school and open a restaurant.

In addition to the South Park and restaurant experience, Parker was able to tour the Queen Mary and the Scorpion Submarine, visit Watts Towers, walk along Hollywood Boulevard, and do some shopping on the remaining days of his trip.

After returning from his trip, Parker wrote our office a heartfelt thank-you letter that ended with this statement: “I still can’t believe that I got to hang out with Trey and Matt and be a part of South Park. I hope someday I am able to help someone like you have helped me.”
