Makayla goes to the Renaissance Festival

Makayla

“ All day she was treated like a real Princess ”

Makayla was born with severe progressive scoliosis and cerebral palsy. Today she is a bubbly 13-year-old who loves the Renaissance family atmosphere.

When she met with her wish granters, she knew that her one true wish was to have a VIP experience at the Wichita Renaissance Festival.

Her weekend started in spectacular fashion at Mary Kate and Company salon where she received a complete make-over! Her limousine then drove her to the festival, where she was greeted by her very own Cavalier Pirate escort, which didn’t leave her side the rest of the day—her wish was their command!

During the Grand Entrance of the festival, she was named Princess Makayla, as she was would be referred to the rest of the day!  During the festival, as part of her Royal duties, she had the great honor of knighting one of the squires!  One of her favorite memories from the day was feeding the camels!

By the end of the day, Makayla’s cheeks hurt from smiling so much from all the attention!  Now that her trip is over, she enjoys looking back on pictures and re-living those magical memories.
