Kaydence's Disney World Wish

wish kid Kaydence

“ For the first time, she got to see herself (as did we) with hair. ”

Kaydence has battled cancer since the age of 15 months old. She is now 4. Kaydence's wish was to go to Disney World and meet all the princesses, so that's what we did.

Make-A-Wish Kansas made that possible. After more than 2 years of cancer and all the baggage that comes with it, Kaydence (and her family) needed a break. We needed time to be a family. We needed Kaydence to be a little girl who didn't have to be aware of things that only grown ups should have to be aware of (pokes, and tubies, and chemo, and hospitals).

Seeing her in her element, and meeting the princesses, she was so innocent. She was a little girl living her dream, experiencing the magic and believing in every single second of it. She even got a princess makeover and for the very first time, she got to see herself (and we got to see her) with long hair. It was such a joyful and happy trip. We are so blessed that she was granted her wish. It was definitely the bright light at the end of a very long, dark tunnel.

- Cori, Kaydence's mom
