Our brand and mission is becoming more recognizable and trusted with each passing year. We are gradually overcoming past impressions of being an organization that only helps terminal children. We are being recognized as a symbol of hope. Consequently, wish referrals are increasing at an unsustainable rate. Yet, we continue to do more with less. Our capacity is at its limit—but the referrals continue.
That is why we need your investment in our mission. You can help us grant wishes by making a monthly or one-time donation, either online or by mail (1144 N St. Francis, Wichita, KS 67214).
Here is one child who is currently waiting for a wish:
I wish to go swimming with dolphins
Eagan is a 5-year-old from Wichita with a life-threatening heart condition. He is a very active little boy who loves to jump on the trampoline and make up fun games to play outside. He loves the color blue, and his favorite food is ice cream!
Eagan loves marine animals, especially dolphins. When his volunteer Wish Granters from Make-A-Wish Kansas arrived to ask him what his wish was, he knew immediately that he wanted to swim with dolphins. That's all he could talk about, and in fact, he was ready to pack his bags and leave that very day!
In October (which is "a thousand days away" according to Eagan), he will spend a week at Discovery Cove in Florida where he will swim with dolphins and learn about other aquatic life. He will also visit Animal Kingdom and SeaWorld! This wish will be an opportunity for Eagan to enjoy a stress-free week with his family and enjoy the normalcy of childhood!
